Ooops, I forgot....

Ok, so I forgot to add my weekly picture from my challenge!! 
I have accepted Kathleen's personal 52 week challenge to get Mom back into the picture. The idea is that once a week you take a picture of yourself. Give the camera to your husband, your kids, the librarian, the ticket taker. Who cares? Just pass the camera off and say, "Cheese!" It's that simple. I shall post my picture(s) for the challenge on my blog once a week typically on Thursdays. I too personally invite you to take the challenge of getting mom back into the picture.

Week 4
These pics were taken this past weekend at my son's 4th Birthday party, the first one is of myself and my wonderful Mother whom has made me into the Mom I am today! Love you Mom!!  The second picture is of myself and my inspiring Sister-in-law, Amy!

Last, but certainly not least I thought I'd add a picture of my son. I love this picture because it really shows his excitement after blowing out his candles.  He's saying "YESSSSSSS!!"

"Failure is only an opportunity to begin again more intelligently"

I saw that quote on another weight loss blog, it's quoted by Henry Ford and I thought it summed up my journey pretty good.  Failure paves the way to success!  I have failed a few times along the way, but I know that in order for me to continue on my journey, I will succeed if I continue to pick myself up and march on!  Taking the road to success is the better option for my health!

My weigh in last week brought me down another 2lbs.!  I was pretty happy with that considering I had missed my last week weigh in.  I refocused like I said I would and succeeded.  The up's and downs seem to be coming more often as far as stess goes!  It has been a rough week this past week and I have veered off plan a bit.  The exercise level really needs to be back up there!  I really need to use it as another stress  reliver, it probably would have come in pretty handy!  So for this weeks weigh in ... (in 2 days) I am not feeling as positive, but I will go and "face the music."  The family and I went to dinner tonight and I indulged in dessert which was probably against my better judgement : (  Oh well, time to move on and tomorrow "begin again more intelligently."

When Life Gets in the Way

Hello all!  I know, I know I am a few days past blogging.  It was a tough week!  Celebrated my Dad's Birthday last weekend and after making some poor choices, it sort of led me to a down-spiral of poor choices! Along with the Birthday, stress plays a role as well!   Every day was not bad, however I did manage to get my activity in most of the days last week.  Needless to say, I did not make weigh in on Thursday.  I did make it back on track though.  Headed for a much better week this week!
My son started baseball this week so it is always a challenge to stay away from the concession stands too.  I have to remind myself that I am there for him and not the food.  Funny how we make an outing circled around food sometimes!
My goal for the week is to stay focused!!  On to a better week!!

Making The Most Of Your Weekend

That was the meeting topic today. I missed our weekly meeting due to prior obligations however I did manage to sneak in to get weighed. Happy to say the scale went D.O.W.N. again! .8 is the total for the week. I am almost at my first 5lbs! Slow and steady wins the race, right!? Yay me!

So lets see, where to start? Hmmm...

Making the most of your weekend is a biggie for me, after all it is only two days. Like I reported last weekend I had a hard time with life's temptations being out of my normal surroundings. If you simply plan ahead then there are no problems right? Normally we think so but we know it doesn't always work that way. As long as I stay on the exercise course I will be fine. Saturday my Hubby and I are having a night out (thanks Mom). We are headed to the Elton John concert at our local venu. This is a huge deal for me because I am a BIG Elton fan! My number one song by Elton is "Tiny Dancer," it's a feel good song. I feel like it just brings people together no matter the mood. Surprisingly enough I have been able to get Brian to like him. 5 years ago he would have never wanted to go see him. We are meeting some friends for dinner prior to the concert then staying at a local hotel for the night. I plan to get a workout done before going.

So, remember I joined the "Mom is Missing" challenge? Well, here is my recent pic. This pic is of me and my youngest Jacob. We will be celebrating Jake's 4th Birthday On the 8th of May. I don't know where the time goes. The kids grow up so fast.

Weekend fun..

Brian and Jeff went to the U.P this past weekend so I decided to take Amanda to do some shopping.  We went to Birch Run to the Prime Outlet Mall and stayed the night in a hotel.  Had an awesome time doing some serious shopping with my girl!!  We had some great quality time together.  Needless to say the weekend brought some temptations that I did, yes, I did give in to. For some reason I am still looking for the willpower while out of my comfort zone.  It's funny how we can fall back into old habits so easy and quickly.  I did some walking on Saturday to burn some of it off and took a walk with my hubby Friday too,  however Sunday came and I was exhausted and cold.  I stayed off the treadmill for the day, but back at it tomorrow.  Hopefully the temptations will not show up on the scale on Thursday, if they do I will know exactly why!

April 14th weigh in..

After working my tail off this week, I was expecting big numbers on the scale but much to my surprise I was only down .4.  I know, I have said it time and time again to friends, a loss is a loss..at least the scale is not going up.  All the "point" something weigh in's will add up.  I am happy with it!  The week brought some challenges for me.  I was faced with take out from one of my favorite restaurants for dinner one evening.  I passed it up and decided to go with a healthier option and I am glad that I did. As a Weight Watcher I have learned  that sometimes I am going to be faced with temptations and will need to decide if I want to give in or pass it up.  Basically it comes down to me asking myself "will it be worth it" in the long run, or "how hard will I have to work to get it off?"  Yes, I do give in,  we all do, we are human, but just staring back at it, I decided to stay on the staight path to seccess for the week, or better yet the day!  I was asked to join a 52 week challenge.  The challenge is called "Mom is Missing."  Mom is missing from all the pics and needs to be found!  So, I will post a pic of myself every Thursday and stop hiding behind the camera.  This will be a challenge for me as I DO NOT LIKE my pic taken, so yes, "Mom is Missing." 
So this weekend will bring many challenges for me as our schedule will be out ot the ordinary.  My daughter and I are heading to Birch Run for some quality time of shopping.  I am going to be a good WW and stay on the right path..at least I have every intention to do so!

Thursday weigh in.....the results are in.......

Last weeks weigh in I was down 3.2lbs, it was my second weigh in since I started back.  The first week I was up .4.  With being so sick last week and Easter (yes I ate more then I should have) I was sure to be up at the weigh in today.  I didn't exercise for 4 days last week, ate horrible for a day so needless to say, I had "damage control" to do.  Lots of make up workouts!  So the results are in...drum roll please.........
I was down 1lb today!  1lb you say, yes 1lb..visually that is equivalent to 4 sticks of butter!  Those make up workouts the past 3 days must have helped.  I was surprised, I knew it could have gone either up or down so I am happy with that!  On with a new, refocused week!
So this week I will live by this quote..
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."  I am going to get a pedometer and track my daily steps, 10,000 steps = a healthy me!  I will set an activity goal for the week and stick to it!
